Since it origin, the arthropod collection has increased its funds by the revenue made by the staff of the museum itself after the completion of scientific expeditions, or other collections and surveys associated with research projects and purchases, exchanges, gifts, donations, deposits and other allowances, with that or not acquired ownership of pieces entered.
Currently, the staff of the collection is responsible for the administrative processing and receipt of all income received deliveries of material research staff CSIC (legally owned), material deliveries under the law of national heritage (property legal), donations from institutions or private (legal transfer of property), court deposits (without legal ownership), and deliveries or material deposits under the laws of regional heritage (without legal ownership).

Donations are highly appreciated by the Museum as an important contribution to increasing its cultural and scientific heritage. They will always be admitted and when their contents are appropriate to it, reserving the Centre the right to establish the conditions thereof.

In the case of donations reports on the administrative procedure for acceptance to the institution or individual that made the offer. The staff performs administrative management prior to acceptance. Prepares documents necessary to initiate the transfer ( "statement intentions," "affidavit of ownership," if you have no other evidence); review the offered materials; preparation of the technical report of interest, prepared by the Head of the Collection justifying the decision to purchase or not copies and, where appropriate, include the decision on its destination; Endorsement of the address MNCN; if so will rise for processing by the Heritage Service of the CSIC, next to "Donation Document".
In the case of other public administrations, a contract of deposit or transfer document will be signed, as appropriate.
In the case of judicial deposits, technical service manager will sign the chain of custody (receipt document).
Upon acceptance of donations staff is responsible for coordinating the transfer to the Museum, copies reception, registration and processing income and photographed preliminary inventory of all specimens. Personal income applies treatments deemed necessary: preparation of copies for long-term preservation.
The term of delivery is very variable, ranging from a few days and years depending on the support staff assigned to collections at all times, the magnitude of the work to be performed and the response time of the CSIC in the case of donations.
Administrative procedures prior to admission do not apply in the case of project income.
IMPORTANT: All applications whose result results in the improvement of the scientific quality of the collection, or those that by their nature cannot enter into competition with the private sector, are excepted from this benefit.
