FPU2023-The next generation supernova Hubble diagram

The global objective of this project is to study the evolution of the Universe and the nature of its components, in particular the mysterious dark energy responsible for its accelerated expansion. For this we will construct the next generation of supernova Hubble-Lemaître diagram by combining data of the three leading surveys in the next decade: the La Silla Southern Supernova Survey (LS4) at low redshift, the Vera Rubin's Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) at intermediate redshift, and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Supernova Survey (ROMAN) at high redshift. In this way, this project will contribute to the understanding of our Universe and its destiny, and therefore it will raise interest from the society and the general public at different levels. The student will be in a position to conduct state-of-the-art research in cosmology and actively contribute to the leading international surveys in the coming decade.
