Tectonic Processes and GeoResources

The main goal of the Tectonic Processes and GeoResources Lab is to explore the lithospheric processes operating during extension and orogenesis, and their influence on the distribution of georesources. More specifically, our research focuses on: - The structure, thermo-mechanical behavior and deformation of the lithosphere - The effects of igneous and metamorphic processes on the rheology of the lithosphere - The evolution of topography, erosion dynamics, and sediment transfer and deposition - The characterization of reservoirs and seals to evaluate groundwater, mineral and energy resources, and gas storage solutions
