Nanostructured Hybrid, Biohybrid and Porous Materials

The Group founded by Prof. E. Ruiz-Hitzky 40 years ago has evolved and counts with researchers with diverse experience in chemical synthesis and structural & textural characterization of inorganic, organic and organo-inorganic materials, aiming to develop advanced functional materials for a sustainable world (https://wp.icmm.csic.es/phbhmg/). Research activities have focused on the development of new functional hybrid, biohybrid and porous nanostructured materials, mainly related to silica, zeolites, clays, templated carbonaceous and metal oxides, and more recently addressing also functional organic compounds. It participated in >50 projects, leading most of them, contracts with companies, has >30 patents and recently created a spin-off. Their members presented numerous invited lectures at International Meetings and organized those events. Collaborations with Spanish & foreign groups with a complementary background and experience ensure our capacity to tackle specific studies.
