Particular attention is devoted to research on: migrations of musicians; circulation of repertories; institutional models; urban musical landscapes; the connection of music with culture, politics, ideologies, and conflicts; music and women; otherness and musical identity; musical relations between Spain, Europe, Latin America, and the Philippines; musical heritage and historiography; critical editing of musical sources; historical performance practices; and music of oral tradition and its connection with written repertoires. The Group promotes international scientific exchanges and interdisciplinary dialogue with other disciplines, such as general history, art history, literature, anthropology, ethnology, and cultural practices.
