Metals and Environment Group

The research activity of this group is related to the prevention, evaluation, control and minimization of the environmental impact of pollutants from industrial activities. This topic is included in one of the main lines of INCAR, which is the decarbonisation of industrial sectors, in particular, the reduction of polluting emissions (Global Challenge A). In recent years his research has focused on the development and improvement of solids that allow the elimination of pollutants, both individually and simultaneously (multi-pollutant), evaluation of the quality of by-products in view of their possible recovery, and correct management, thus pursuing an efficient use of resources (circular economy). The most recent research is focused on the development of sustainable solids from biomass waste and their application for the decontamination of water and soil.
