Cultivation and experimentation of seaweeds


Marine macroalgae (seaweeds) are a resource of great economic and environmental importance due to their numerous applications and key ecological functions. The scientific staff of the group has extensive expertise in studying both basic and applied of seaweeds, with a particular focus on kelps, through cultivation and experimentation. The overall objective is the research, development, and knowledge transfer in the cultivation, sustainable use, and conservation of seaweeds to contribute to addressing the current challenges of Marine Biotechnology within the framework of the EU Blue Growth Strategy.
