Advanced Chemical Processes

The Advanced Chemical Processes group is formed by a multidisciplinary team of researchers belonging to the Department of Chemical Processes and Nanotechnology of the Institute of Carbochemistry, who have participated in national and European projects, as well as in research contracts with companies. In addition, members of the group collaborate in university teaching and dissemination activities. The activity of the research group has been dedicated to coal and biomass fuels in areas such as increasing the efficiency and life of combustion plants (on-line analysis of coal; slagging, fouling and corrosion), the control of pollutant emissions (Hg, NOx and SO2) and in technologies such as oxy-combustion and hydroxy-combustion. The group is currently opening a new line in energy storage technologies through the use of electrofuels.
