    Within the possibilities of collaboration of the CSIC with other RDI agents, the figure of the RDI Unit associated to CSIC is a formula that allows the articulation, in a temporary and flexible way, scientific collaborations between research staff from CSIC and that of external entities integrated in those units.

    Innovation and Enterprise

    The CSIC aims to bring closer its capabilities, scientific and technological achievements to all national and international socio-economic sectors to transform them in social, economic and cultural well-being for society.

    RDI results protection

    CSIC protects the results generated by its research groups and staff as a function of the result peculiarity, using different formats from the most common, the patent, to some less known, such as industrial secrecy; registration of plant varieties or biological material and utility models or software, among others.

    RDI contracts

    CSIC signs different types of contracts with companies interested in CSC capabilities, research lines or technologies.

    Marketing of RDI products

    All the technologies obtained in the CSIC’s laboratories, previously registered and protected, constitute the CSIC's technological offer portfolio.

    Start-up companies

    The start-up companies are a key instrument for the transfer of knowledge generated in public research organizations, such CSIC, translating research results into products on the market and promoting the creation of a more innovative industrial sector.

    Technological offer portfolio

    CSIC has specific technological results protected in very different ways, among which the patent prevails. The collaboration with companies interested in a protected asset can be realized in two different ways:

    1. 1 - An agreement for the development of technology (increase in TRL) with the option of a subsequent exploitation license.
    2. 2 - A license agreement for the protected asset leading to its commercial exploitation.

    International

    Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) scientific production should be in leading positions of a highly competitive international scientific environment. This is the main reason why the CSIC's relations with other international research entities are an essential point for the CSIC's progress.

    Framework Programme for Research and Innovation in the European Union

    Horizon 2020 is the eighth Framework Programme for Research and Innovation in the European Union for the period 2014-2020. It has a budget of more than 70.000 million euros to finance initiatives and projects of research, technological development, demonstration and innovation of clear European added value.

    ERC & MSCA

    The main instruments for the development and attraction of talent to the European Union (EU) are the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and the European Research Council (ERC) calls.

    Other European Initiatives

    The role of the CSIC in the articulation of the European Research Area is expressed not only through participation in regular calls for Horizon 2020, but also through participation in other community calls, financed through the Framework Program or other Programs, which due to their strategic relevance to the CSIC deserve special mention.

    International Cooperation and Resources

    Within the promotion of internationalization, the Vice Presidency for International Relations (VRI) carries out activities to disclose opportunities and supports our researchers in competitive calls from third countries.

    Training and employment

    The are many alternatives for joining and working in the CSIC: to do it as a researcher, it is required to be in possession of the title of doctor; as a researcher in training, through a predoctoral contract; as technician, supporting research directly in its diverse modalities; or as a technician responsible for the administrative management.

    Why joining CSIC?

    CSIC is a unique research institution in Spain, which society recognizes and values. In addition to its thematic diversity in the research activity and its large human capital, its geographical presence throughout the Spanish territory as well as its singular infrastructures should be highlighted.

    Postdoctoral Professional Career

    Around 11,000 people work and do research in CSIC. Around 25% are researchers in training who do their doctorate and continue their career focused on the postdoctoral stage performing research projects under the direction of CSIC researchers.

    Labour Exchange

    CSIC’s Labour Exchange is the selection mechanism to access ttemporary jobs linked to research projects, agreements and contracts.

    Training of research personnel

Adsorción - Desorción de Nitrógeno: Equipo Instrumental para determinar la Superficie Especifica de muestras sólidas, consta de una estación de desgasificado donde las muestras se limpian de impurezas mediante arrastre con gas y temperatura, posteriormente se introducen en la estación de medida donde se enfría la muestra a 77K con N2 y se calienta hasta temperatura ambiente con flujo continuo de gas de mezcla He/N2, mediante el método BET monopunto se puede determinar la adsorción/desorción de la superficie de cada muestra. Tamaño de partícula:Equipo Instrumental para determinar el tamaño de partícula de muestras sólidas, consta de un ultrasonidos externo donde se realiza una dispersión previa al ensayo, posteriormente se introduce en la estación de agitación mecánica que permite distribuir la muestra hasta la cámara de medida donde es irradiada por un haz laser de, los resultados se tratan posteriormente con un equipo informático.

AccuPyc 1330 series pycnometer (Micromeritics) for the volume measurements and true density calculations on a wide variety of solids. Cells of different size are availables.
Helium pycnometry: Accupyc II 1340
Those interested in performing Picnometry tests should fill in the corresponding form.
The samples must be solid with the correct particle size
The samples will come in vials that the user will bring.
The minimum amount needed for the test is 6 cm3.

El servicio cuenta con un porosímetro de mercurio modelo Autopore IV 9500 (Micromeritics) que dispone de cuatro puertos de baja presión (0 - 2.4 bar) y dos puertos de alta presión (1 - 2280 bar). Las medidas en los puertos de baja presión permiten la determinación de la densidad aparente de sólidos. Las medidas en los puertos de alta presión permiten la determinación de las distribuciones de tamaños de poro, siendo 5 nm el tamaño de poro mínimo al que puede acceder el mercurio.

Service's description

Una de las funciones de este laboratorio es la de obtener parámetros físicos de rocas y sedimentos. Actualmente dispone de equipamiento para la caracterización física de los materiales de construcción (piedra natural, ladrillo, mortero, etc.) usados en el patrimonio arquitectónico. Se realizan pruebas conducentes a determinar las propiedades de las superficies, textura y comportamiento hídrico de los materiales, y análisis no destructivos con ultrasonidos, cámaras termográficas infrarrojas, esclerómetros y otros equipos. Los servicios ofrecidos incluyen, entre otros, tests de alteración que simulan los procesos que afectan a los materiales pétreos, con los que se pueden tanto crear modelos que determinen la durabilidad de los materiales al ser expuestos a ambientes agresivos, como proyectos integrales y servicios de análisis.

Service's description

El Servicio de Análisis y Caracterización del Instituto de Carboquímica es una unidad de apoyo a la investigación que engloba una amplia variedad de técnicas analíticas e instrumentales para la caracterización de todo tipo de materiales. En la actualidad, el servicio ofrece numerosas prestaciones en su catálogo de servicios, entre las que se incluyen la caracterización de combustibles (análisis elemental, inmediato y poder calorífico), cromatografía iónica, análisis químico mediante ICP-OES, espectroscopías (XPS, Raman, FTIR), difracción de rayos X, microscopia electrónica de barrido (SEM), caracterización textural (fisisorción, porosimetría de mercurio, densidad) y distribución de tamaño de partícula. El laboratorio presta sus servicios tanto a los investigadores del ICB como a los investigadores de otros OPIS y Universidades, así como a empresas y particulares que lo requieran.

Descripcion: 
Helium pycnometry analysis are carried out in Accupyc 1340 by Micromeritics.
The equipment has a nominal cell volumen of 10 cm3 with multivolume option to analyze different sample amounts (1,3.5 y 10 cm3). In addition, it is provided with a temperature-control unit to perform analysis at different temperatures.

Density measurement of cocnretes and mortars, as well as of their aggregates:
- Density measurement of hardened concrete according to UNE-EN 12390-7 standard.
- Determination of particle density and water absoprtion of aggregates according to UNE-EN 1097-6.

Service's description

La Unidad de Apoyo a la Investigación nació en el año 1990 con la finalidad de centralizar las técnicas instrumentales de caracterización de materiales del ICP en una Unidad, optimizando recursos técnicos y humanos. Durante estos años la UA ha ido mejorando de forma progresiva dichos recursos, adquiriendo una sólida experiencia en el área de la caracterización de materiales. El objetivo de la Unidad de Apoyo a la Investigación II del ICP es servir de apoyo analítico a la actividad investigadora que se desarrolla en el centro y para ello cuenta con técnicas de caracterización de materiales: difracción de RX (certificada con la norma UNE-EN ISO 9001), espectroscopía UV-Vis-NIR, porosimetría de mercurio (certificada con la norma UNE-EN ISO 9001), picnometría de helio, y SEM que dan servicio a las diversas líneas de investigación del ICP. La Unidad de Apoyo a la Investigación II también presta sus servicios a investigadores externos al ICP procedentes de empresas privadas y OPIs
