Service description

This Unit has recently introduced a multi-angle laser light scattering detector equipped with a flow cell (DAWN EOS model, Wyatt Inc.) connected to a refractive index flow detector and coupled to a size exclusion chromatography system (SEC-MALS) to determine the SEC-isolated species. The SEC-MALS technique provides the following advantages over other molecular mass determining methods: 1. All the SEC-isolated macromolecular species can be analyzed for the determination of their molecular mass in just one assay. 2. Molecular mass determination is a straight measurement, without the use of a standard calibration curve. 3. Sample volumes required for a standard column vary between 100-200 µl.
