Fuel Conversion Group

The research activity is focused on the production of hydrogen and synthesis gas by natural gas and biogas valorization, on the preparation and characterization of nanostructured carbon materials and their application in energy and environment fields,. Among the uses for advanced nanostructured carbon materials the following are being tested: (i) graphite precursors for the anodes of Li ion batteries; (ii) graphene precursor; (iii) catalyst in biomass valorization reactions; (iv) electrocatalysts in Fuel Cells, Electrolyzers and in electrochemical reactors for CO2 reduction and (v) materials for metal-air batteries and redox-flow batteries.
