Access Clean room

Benefit description

The service menu of clean room access is defined as use the clean room in order to make tasks which need to be done in a clean environment like semiconductor modules assembly and packaging. The cleanrooms are ISO 7 certified. Setpoint temperature of the clean rooms is of 21ºC with a range of 3ºC and the setpoint relative humidity is of 55%. The access to the clean rooms can be internal in other to use the equipment actually installed inside or in order to make any task in a clean environment. In this last case the spare area in order to make any additional task inside the room is very limited, and will not allow any complex operation.

Materials nanostructuration is one of the strategic scientific domains of ICMAB being at present in deep expansion. For this reason, ICMAB-CSIC created in 2007, the Nanostructuration Platform that is about 200 m2 clean room laboratories with restrictive temperature and humidity control that it is part of the Nanotechnology Unit of ICMAB. Five laboratories form this 10000 class clean room: Advanced optical lithography Lab., Characterization at the nanoscale of functional materials Lab., Physico-Chemical characterization and Nanofabrication Lab., Chemical synthesis Lab., and a highly control humidity Lab. for non-acquous solution deposition and growth of nanostructures; the last three Laboratories compose the so-called Nanoquim Laboratory which is devoted to the nanostructuration of materials by chemical routes, which constitutes the most distinctive feature of the Nanostructuration Platform. About 40 different scientific equipments are planned to be placed in this facility comprising equipment for Control of physico-chemical properties of solutions, Solution deposition and nanoestructuration equipment, Nano-material growth equipment, Thin film caracterization equipment, Nanoscale characterization equipment, Physico-chemical selective etching systems for metals, oxides and polymers, and Electrical contact and advanced optical lithography equipment. In this moment we have over 30 equipments.

Use of alaboratory space in clean room in conditions of ISO-8 (class 100.000) and ISO-5 (class 10.000), for electronic, optical or mechanical tasks. There is also the service that offers the possibility to perform the following measurements within an ISO-8 clean room (ISO-6 is reachable). Comparison between an opto-mechanic system with their theoretical specifications (expressed in a 3D CAD blueprint) in terms of dimensions, shape and relative position. Definition of the geometrical characteristics and/or dimensions of a component whose technical specifications are unknown. For instance, techniques of reverse engineering, where you make measurements of a component to obtain other parameters of interest. ICE institute possesses the following equipment to carry out this service: 3D measuring Hexagon Absolute Arm Compact 8512 with the ISO 10360-2 certificate, which has a 1.2m measuring distance, different (ranging from various sizes up to probes with an angle to measure elements with low accessibility) touch-trigger interchangeable probes that do not require a previous calibration, the maximum permissible error for length measurement is less than 6 microns, wireless measurements are possible and an integrated analysis software to interpret results. In addition, the software allows making comparisons between measurements and a CAD design in one of these formats IGES, DXF, DWG, STEP203, STEP 214. The measuring arm is located on top of a flatness table made on Granite (grade 0).
