HIGH RESOLUTION VARIANT
We offer the obtention of high-resolution Raman spectra of gaseous samples in the spectral region between 100 and 4200 cm-1, where most of the molecular vibrations lie.
The experimental setup is based on an implementation of the Stimulated Raman Loss technique, based on the use of narrow-linewidth lasers to excite the sample and obtain its Raman spectrum.
Adequate sample pressures should be in the interval between 1 mbar and 1 atm (approximately). The very high resolution of the experimental setup (~ 0.0025 cm-1) limits the acquisition speed to a rate of approximately 2 cm-1/hour.
HIGH SENSITIVITY VARIANT
This variant allows to record Raman spectra of gaseous samples, with spectral resolution between 0.2 cm-1 and 1 cm-1, in the spectral region between ~10 cm-1 and 4500 cm-1 corresponding to the molecular rotations and vibrations.
Samples will be placed in home-available cells with glass windows, at pressures between 100 mbar and 1 bar, or directly in glass/quartz containers supplied by the user, if allowed by their shape and size.
The experimental setup consists of two instruments, each formed by a high-power (10 W) cw-laser in the visible, and a dispersive spectrometer with a high-sensiticity CCD detector cooled by liquid nitrogen.
