Synthesis Group

The group is specialized on the synthesis of polymers by different processes, for the preparation of functional polymer materials. The synthetic strategies are: polymerization and photopolymerization reactions, chemical modification of macromolecules and chemical modification of polymer surfaces. The polymers synthesized are: linear polymers, branched, hyperbranched, dendrimers, crosslinked polymeric networks, hydrogels and fibers. Currently, the resarch of the group is centered in the synthesis and preparation of functional polymer materials as sensors and as antibacterial/virucidal surfaces and textiles.
