NANOBIOELECTRONICS AND BIOSENSORS

The Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors group aims to integrate nanotechnology methods, tools and materials into low-cost, user friendly and efficient sensors and biosensors with application in fields such as diagnostics, food analysis, environment monitoring and other industries. Thanks to the unique properties of nanoparticles, 2D materials, nanochannels and other nanomaterials, applications include medical diagnosis, food analysis or environmental care. In the last decades the demand for efficient, accurate and low-cost sensors has increased for applications ranging from disease analysis carried out by the patient -home testing- to monitoring environmental contaminants. The research activity of the group focuses on improving the performance (sensitivity, selectivity, response interval, etc.) of the various types of biosensors, especially for applications in the food, environmental and medical industry.
