Microenvironment and metastasis

Our group investigates how the tumour microenvironment influences cancer progression, metastatic spread, and resistance to therapy. We focus on the role of extracellular vesicles, obesity, and key receptors such as NGFR in shaping tumour–host interactions, influencing immune responses and cancer progression. By uncovering these mechanisms, we aim to pinpoint therapeutic targets that can block metastatic growth and overcome treatment resistance. Ultimately, our research seeks to provide new strategies to prevent metastasis, improve patient survival, and contribute to the development of more personalized cancer therapies.
