Applied ecology

We use ecological studies to advance knowledge required for the sustainable management of natural resources. We work with several study systems, but have a particular interest in the ecology and behavior of mammals and the the ecological effects of climate change in Arctic environments. The research is carried out at different levels of biological organization, from individuals to populations and communities. Our research approach is directly aligned with several of the global objectives of CSIC. Our research is highly collaborative and we have a strong international profile, with group members holding honorary or adjunct positions with foreign universities. We also form cross-disciplinary collaborations and engage with commercial companies. Finally, much of our work is integrated with environmental management agencies.
