Proteins that interact within molecular networks tend to have similar functions and, when perturbed, influence the same organismal traits. By using this simple principle called “guilt by association”, we can apply network based approaches to better understand human disease, using genetic signals such as common and rare variation. These same methods are valuable to integrate other omics such as protein or transcripts regulation during disease, offering a more diverse vision and helping to gain tissue specificity. Our group leverages all of the above, developing new strategies to determine pathogenic mechanisms in human disease and paving the way to repurpose existing therapies or discover new ones.
