La colección de cultivos del Centro Oceanográfico de Vigo (COV, IEO-CSIC) cuenta con cerca de 300 cepas de dinoflagelados, la mayoría de ellas clonales. Cuenta con las principales cepas nocivas y/o tóxicas que han provocado blooms en la península ibérica, y con muchas que han ocasionado episodios recurrentes en Europa y América. También posee organismos no nocivos pero importantes ecológicamente por su carácter de simbiontes, como es el caso de las microalgas pertenecientes al género Symbiodinium. Las cepas son mantenidas en cámaras isotermas a 3 temperaturas según su localización de aislamiento y hábitat original (15, 19 o 25ºC) en medio de cultivo L1, f/2 o K, según los requerimientos de la cepa. Son identificadas morfológica y/o genéticamente, y su perfil de toxicidad también es evaluado. El catálogo completo es público en la web del centro.

Benefit description
This service consists of shipping strains from the CCVIEO Microalgae Culture Collection to various national and international entities, as well as to public and private organizations, for various scientific uses (please specify when placing your order). There are two volumes available: 8 and 25 ml, which will be delivered in screw-capped incubation flasks. A vial containing culture medium will also be included for the initial transfer. A card with all the strain information, maintenance parameters, and genetic data will also be included. Prices vary dependong on whether they are public or private entities.
