El Programa de Conservación de razas autóctonas de gallinas iniciado en 1975 y ubicado en la Granja Avícola El Encin alberga actualmente 10 razas de gallinas españolas y 2 híbridos realizados por el grupo de investigación del INIA. Uno de los objetivos de dicho Programa es la divulgación de dichas razas para favorecer su uso en sistemas alternativos de avicultura, es por ello que durante la campaña de reproducción de nuestros ejemplares (meses de Marzo a Mayo) se facilita el suministro de pollitos de 1 día y/o huevos fértiles de las diferentes razas españolas. Otro servicio que presta la granja avícola El Encín es la obtención de diferentes materiales biológicos que puedan servir de base para investigaciones y/o la realización de pequeños estudios con los ejemplares del programa.

Benefit description
Supply 1 day old chicks can be obtained in batches of 15 chicks. They are not vaccinated and not sexed. Chicks can be obtained exclusively during the reproductive cycle, between March and May. Minimum per order 1 lbatch and maximum 7 batches (105 chicks). To access this service, an email should be sent to the person in charge (granjaelencin@inia.csic.es), indicating: - Your full name, DNI/NIE, - Contact phone number, - Adress - The number of chicks per breed requested (see catalog in the link: https://www.inia.es/serviciosyrecursos/Servicios%20Cient%C3%ADficos/geneticayreproducionanimal/PublishingImages/Suministro%20de%20pollitos%20de%20un%20d%C3%ADa%20de%20razas%20aut%C3%B3ctonas%20de%20gallinas/CATALOGO%20INIA_Gallinas.pdf). Requests will be processed in the order received. Orders need to be picked up at the poultry farm El Encín in Alcalá de Henares (Highway A2 exit km 38, direction IMIDRA) between 11:00h and 13:00h; farm personnel should be notified in advance.
