Surface Chemistry Group

The Surface Chemistry Group at the Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) is led by Dr. Jordi Esquena, who also coordinates the Associated Unit of the University of Barcelona (UB) to CSIC, “Grupo de Nanotecnología Farmacéutica,” together with Prof. Maria José Garcia-Celma from UB. In addition, he is the coordinator of the Consolidated Group “Grup de Tensioactius” (2021 SGR 00503). The members of the Surface Chemistry Group are also affiliated with the "Centro de Investigaciones Biomédicas en Red en Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina" (CIBER-BBN), as part of the CB06/01/1058 group led by Carlos Rodriguez-Abreu (IQAC-CSIC). The group provides the “Service of Characterization of Colloidal Dispersions (SCDC)” at IQAC-CSIC, which is integrated into the NANBIOSIS characterization platform and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification.
