Stellar Variability Group
The Group's research focuses mainly on the study of stellar structures, through asteroseismology, exoplanets, statistics, star clusters, stellar atmospheres, etc. In particular, the Group is involved in theoretical and observational research, as well as instrumental and technological evelopment both for ground-based telescopes and for scientific payloads on board space missions. For this we have developed specific instrumentation for the OSN, and we have participated in the design and exploitation of the space missions CoRoT and Kepler and completed, TESS and BRITE. Currently we are strongly involved in the preparation of the PLATO (ESA) space mission, designing and building the instrument's Main Electronic Units, and leading two scientific workpackages. In addition, the Group develops services and Applications for Virtual Observatory (Spanish Virtual Observatory) for astrosismological models (TOUCAN) using "machine learning" techniques.
