Polymer Composites

Polymer Composites emerges in 2021 from Polymeric Nanomaterials, an A-rated group: excellent. The new group was formed after a long-term collaboration, of more than 15 years, between two researchers, and was consolidated with the attraction of two "Ramón y Cajal" researchers bringing new lines of work. This union has provided the sufficient critical mass to establish an independent group to increase the visibility of cutting-edge research in one of the most important areas at an academic and industrial level. Our activity rests on basic science for the development of new sustainable materials with advanced properties within the framework of the circular economy that can be transferred to the industrial sector. We have extensive experience in the synthesis, functionalisation and assembly of polymers and nanoparticles, as well as in the processing and characterisation of composite materials with different polymers, thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers, in solid and foamed state.
