Observational Cosmology and Instrumentation

The group is dedicated to both observational cosmology, and instrumentation related to the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and dark matter search. In relation to the former, we focus on the study of the cosmic microwave background, the mapping of galaxies, galaxy clusters, and radio and infrared galaxies. The activity focuses both on data analysis and on the derivation of the cosmological parameters that describe the different models or scenarios for the origin and evolution of the universe. Regarding the latter, our interest lies in the simulation, development and characterisation of devices related to low noise amplifiers and quantum sensors such as KID or TES, the latter applied to both CMB and dark matter. Our activities are developed both in ground-based experiments and onboard artificial satellites. We also promote the transfer of our developments to the industrial sector.
