Nanomedicine, Imaging & 3D models - NI3D

The Nanomedicine, Imaging & 3D Models group focuses its activities on the use of nanotechnology and chemistry for biomedical applications. The main areas of interest of the group are as follows: Development of nanotracers for medical imaging (PET and MRI) for conditions such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and glioblastomas. Anti-biofilm therapies for drug-resistant bacteria, aiming to develop antivirulence therapies for bacteria involved in respiratory diseases. Theranostic agents for the diagnosis and treatment of glioblastoma. 3D models through bioprinting for mechanistic studies and reducing the number of research animals. By combining nanotechnology with chemistry and biomedical engineering, we develop both basic and preclinical projects.
