Mechanical properties, modelling and characterization of advanced ceramics

Activity focused on the synthesis, processing, mechanical and microestructural chracterization, tayloring and modeling of nanoestructured ceramic materials of high preformance for structural applications at severe environments. Correlation among microestructure/mechanical properties and ionic conductiviy. Modeling of microestructural and transport properties by computer simulation tools. The activities of the group can be framed into the main área of MATTER: The group expresses their interest for informing and take part in some of the new multidisciplinary thematic platforms bein created in the institution in the field of Materials Science.
