Literature and Science in Ancient Mesopotamia

The research of the group "Literature and Science in Ancient Mesopotamia" lies within the field of ancient Near Eastern languages and cultures; we are both renowned Assyriologists specialised in the history, religion and society of the people that inhabited ancient Mesopotamia. Our research focuses on the study of cultural and historical phenomena, their description, analysis, and interpretation as manifest in the various Sumerian-Akkadian literary, scientific and historical genres. Our work includes the text critical edition of cuneiform texts such as myths, epics, rituals, incantations, omens, medical, pharmacological, and metrological treatises.
