Greek and Latin Philology

This research group focusses on the philological analysis, study and interpretation of Greek and Latin texts from the Antiquity to the Early Modern period, in two main areas: 1. Greek Philology and Lexicography, and 2. Latin Philology and Biblical Studies. Reference works (critical editions, translations, commentaries, dictionaries, bibliographies) together with partial studies on linguistics, lexicography, textual criticism, epigraphy, literature, classical reception, etc. form its main scientific output. The group takes active part in Open Science initiatives through the publication of its results in repositories and other online resources. The team is composed of six researchers (four tenured, one emeritus and one assistant) and expects one more research associate in 2022. In the period 2022-2024 a tenured professor of the UPV will be received by the group as visiting researcher with funding of the 2021 Requalification Program for University Faculty members.
