GLYCOSYSTEMS LABORATORY

The main goal of the Glycosystems Laboratory is the study in detail of the biologically relevant recognition processes involving carbohydrates, with the aim to intervene on these processes. In particular, the Glycosystems laboratory is focused on the synthesis of carbohydrates, glycoconjugates, and carbohydrate multivalent systems, the study of these entities at the structural level using computational and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) techniques, and the analysis of the interactions of these carbohydrate systems with their corresponding receptors. The final goal of these studies is the understanding of these processes and the development of useful tools to be applied on glycobiology and biomedicine.
