Flavor and Origin of Matter

Our research activities focus on the study of elementary particle interactions and their implications in particle physics and cosmology. The main goal is to achieve a deeper understanding of the origin of mass and the structure of flavour of the elementary particles, which might have fundamental implications for cosmology, as regards the nature of dark matter and dark energy. An extensive experimental program in particle physics and cosmology is underway to address these questions, including experiments in the high energy frontier (LHC), in neutrino physics, in direct and indirect searches of dark matter, as well as more precise measurements of the CMB and the large scale distribution of matter in the Universe. Our group involves world experts in the phenomenology of these experiments.
