Experimental Nuclear Physics: gamma and neutron spectroscopy

The Gamma Spectroscopy and Neutron Group at IFIC is devoted to experimental nuclear physics, carrying its scientific activity at large international facilities with particle accelerators like CERN-ISOLDE-nTOF, RIKEN (Japan), GSI-FAIR(Germany) etc. To achieve its scientific goals the group develops advanced instrumentation both in the Gamma Spectroscopy Laboratory and the HYMMS Laboratory of IFIC. The scientific interests focus on studies of nuclear structure of nuclei exotic, reactions with neutrons and nuclear reactions in general, as well as applications of nuclear physics in astrophysics , in nuclear technology and in medical physics (transfer of knowledge and technology ).
