Designed Materials for the Energy and Environment


Design, processing and characterization of ceramic and polymeric materials with improved properties for the generation and efficient use of energy, preparation of bioplastics and non-toxic lacquers and management of hazardous industrial waste. The group's activities benefit the citizens, objective of the European Research Council and the 3rd pillar of H2020, as it will allow the use of cheaper and clean energy sources and the management and revalorization of agricultural and industrial wastes. The group has financed collaboration, 2nd pillar H2020, with companies such as ENRESA BEFESA, AZKONOBEL, Andaltec, Greenpower, ALFRAN, Abengoa Water and Hydrogen Technology. Moreover, as recommended in the 2nd pillar H2020, some of the results have been scaled-up to pilot plant scale. There has been an effort by the Internationalization and to form consolidated consortia with other European groups and the group has send to 2 proposals to the European infrastructure network and 1 ITN proposal.
