Climate and Data Science

Established in 2008 with the inclusion of researcher J.M. Gutiérrez and part of his group, founded in 1999 at the University of Cantabria (UC, http://meteo.unican.es). With over 20 years dedicated to climate research, the group addresses theoretical aspects of its nonlinear dynamics and applied aspects such as simulation, processing, and analysis of meteorological and climatic predictions. It collaborates closely with the "Meteorology and Computing" unit, involving personnel from UC, and has technological alliances, such as with Predictia IDS. Research is primarily conducted at the international level, excelling in statistical and numerical models for downscaling. Currently, it participates in three European projects and key initiatives such as IPCC and CORDEX. Additionally, it engages in transfer activities, including agreements with FAO and the Copernicus program.
