Biocompatible Surfactants and Ionic Liquids

The Biocompatible Surfactants and Ionic Liquids Group was formed through the merger of two well-established groups with extensive scientific and technological expertise: the Biocompatible Surfactants Group (Code 642566) and the Environmental Chemistry of Surfactants and Ionic Liquids Group (Code 642574). The team comprises two Senior Scientists, two contracted Senior Researchers, one predoctoral researcher, and a fluctuating number of doctoral candidates and trainees. The group's research focuses on designing and synthesizing biodegradable surfactants and ionic liquids derived from renewable resources, analyzing their physicochemical and biological properties, and developing biotechnological applications for these innovative compounds. This group also manages the Biodegradation and Ecotoxicity Service, which offers a series of unique scientific-technological services at the national level."
