Advanced materials with high added value (AVANZA)

The research field of the group is centred on the study of metallic materials with high added value, particularly biodegradable and biocompatible composites for implants. The multidisciplinarity of these topics enhances the collaboration between AVANZA group and researchers from other research laboratories, technological institutes and hospitals through coordinated projects, and with the industry. In every case, our mission is to both to process and to correlate the material microstructure with its properties, structural and/or functional, and also as a function of processing and post-processing parameters. Our strategy includes basic and technological research, the latter focused on specific industrial interests. Our financial support comes from National projects, European projects and contracts with the industry. To get funding from European projects is one of our priorities.
