El estudio de la vida útil de la estructuras de hormigón ha adquirido una gran importancia en los últimos años. Mediante este servicio se pueden obtener, mediante diferentes ensayos de laboratorio, parámetros relacionados con la durabilidad. Estos parámetros también se pueden introducir en modelos analíticos (ejemplo EHE-08) o modelos numéricos. El cálculo de la vida útil podrá ser calculado en probetas de hormigón o bien es testigos extraídos de estructuras existentes. A parte, se podrá evaluar el estado actual de una estructura existente in-situ, mediante técnicas electroquímicas de corrosión y ensayos no destructivos complementarios.

Once the cause of deterioration is known, the rate at which it occurs is measured and thus it is possible to make a prediction of the evolution of deterioration and the residual life of the structure together with the available time to repair.
