PIF2025 - Multiscale Ocean Variability and Biogeochemical Responses in the Eastern North Atlantic Subtropical Gyre (ENASG) - (PID2024-162612NB-I00)

Qualification and experience expected for candidates: • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences, Oceanography, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related fields. • Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken), together with good academic writing and presentation skills. • Availability for short oceanographic cruises and research stays • High proficiency in data analysis and visualization (including Shell scripting, CDO, Python, R, or MATLAB) • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Strong motivation to pursue a PhD degree • Candidates must not hold a PhD nor been previously awarded a similar contract. Valued Merits • Master’s degree in a related discipline • Knowledge of Physical oceanography, Marine trophic ecology and Marine Carbon Cycle • Research experience in any of the above fields • Skills in oceanographic data analysis • Experience in oceanographic research cruises We Offer: • 4-year fully funded PhD contract hosted at the University of Cádiz (UCA).
