Fonoteca Zoológica accepts the material to be deposited in the collections in any type of analogue or digital format. Currently, the FZ has a great variety of devices and instruments that allow the digitalization of magnetic coils, DATs, miniDATs, cassettes and vinyls. The digitization is among the services usually provided because among our fundamental objectives is the preservation of old material and its upgrade to faster and safer storage systems that allow us to preserve these assets of great historical and scientific value. In order to do this, backups are usually made in digital format, recording the data on optical disks. At present, we are starting to modify the work system that is aimed at the use of storage in "array" DROBO brand, RAID system for storage, offering with this strategy both a comfortable and fast access to our digital data, as well as improving the scalability of the data and the security with which they are preserved. IMPORTANT: Exceptions to these services are all those requests whose result leads to the improvement of the scientific quality of the collection, or those which by their nature cannot enter into competition with the private sector.
