Este laboratorio está dedicado al estudio de los mecanismos celulares y fisiológicos de la reproducción que subyacen a función de gametos, la fecundación y el desarrollo embrionario temprano en roedores y otros mamíferos. El laboratorio incluye equipamiento para análisis hormonales, incubación de espermatozoides, análisis de cinética y forma espermáticas, metabolismo de espermatozoides, fecundación in vivo e in vitro, micro-manipulación de gametos y embriones, y cultivo de embriones.

Advice on systems and methods to evaluate male fertility and sperm quality at the individual or general level. Design of projects for the evaluation of male fertility and sperm quality in a clinical setup, for species of economic importance (livestock), for programmes of conservation of genetic resources, or endangered species. Design of projects to evaluate the impact of environmental factors on male fertility or sperm quality. Coordination and follow-up of projects for the analysis of sperm quality or assessments of male fertility. Preparation of application for financial support to public or private agencies, at national or international level.
