Multi-scale Geographical Analysis of Global Change

The geographic information, generated, managed and analyzed with the help of technology such as remote sensing and GIS, provides a unique tool to analyze events and processes that occur on the territory, facilitating accurate, detailed and real-time information very useful to support the decision making that allow understanding the causes and mitigate the adverse effects of Global Change. In this context, the group's main mission is to generate scientific and technological knowledge by applying Geographic Information Technologies for the production and analysis of geospatial information for the assessment and management of climate change at different scales: from local/detailed observations supported by extensive fieldwork to obtain information on the physical environment and human activities; to synoptic observations supported by the interpretation of satellite images which, while providing less spatial detail, allow a global understanding of this issue.
