Group of Atmosphere, Aerosols and Climate

The Atmosphere, Aerosols and Climate Group (GAAC) (9 persons), studies the composition of the atmosphere, climate change and air quality. Goals: O1. Composition of the atmosphere, aerosols and climate. The study of the influence of man and natural processes on the composition of the atmosphere, especially the composition and properties of atmospheric aerosols that influence biogeochemical processes and climate. O2. Aerosols and air quality: The development of methodologies that allow improving air quality monitoring strategies, identifying the sources of pollutants and their impacts, with an important component of knowledge transfer to air quality managers. and through collaboration with the public health service, especially doctors from emergency services of the national health system. The group manages the Canary Islands Air Quality Laboratory (located at the IPNA CSIC).
