Genetics, Breeding and Biochemistry of Brassicas

The Group of Genetics, Breeding and Biochemistry of Brassicas (https://brassicas.mbg.csic.es/) investigates in strategic lines of high social impact such as agricultural sustainability, healthy and safe food, climate change or exploitation of plant waste. The group focuses its research on (1) the study of brassica crops for use in sustainable and resilient agriculture in the face of the challenges of climate change, (2) the conservation of biodiversity (3) the genetics and biochemistry of compounds related to plant defense and health and (4) the study of the interactions of brassicas plants and their agrosystem, including resistance to stress, quality and production. To do this, the group implements various study techniques that include phenomic, genomic and metabolomic analyses.
