Degradation and durability of metallic biomaterials (DeBio)

The research is framed within the following strategic actions (EECTI) 2021-2027: 1. HEALTH: aimed at protecting the health of the population throughout the entire life cycle, especially focused on repairing the locomotor system damaged by degenerative diseases through the development and innovation of metallic materials. The group's research is supported by more than 20 years of experience. 2. FOOD, BIOECONOMICS, NATURAL RESOURCES AND THE ENVIRONMENT: specifically, the effect of the marine microbiology through the formation of biofilms on metallic structures causing marine microbiological corrosion; and, interactions of invasive species, such as the zebra mussel, with metallic components of boats, causing corrosion by biofouling. 3. CLIMATE, ENERGY AND MOBILITY: innovation in maritime transport, through the development of techniques and materials for the search of new approaches of marine anti-corrosion and anti-fouling with preservation of the environment
