Coal and waste carbonization group

The work carried out in this research group is aimed at both basic and applied research. The group belongs to the Department of Technologies for the energy transition. The work carried out gives great importance to the environmental impact of the coking process and to the use of wastes, using them either as additives in coking blends or for the preparation of carbon materials. In this context, the group works in four lines of research: 1. Optimization of the inclusion of wastes in coking mixtures by means of densification by briquetting, especially lignocellulosic biomass. 2. Methods of measurement, control and coking pressure generation mechanism. 3. Hydrothermal carbonization of biomass residues to prepare bio-carbon. 4. Preparation of adsorbents from biomass and plastic waste for environmental applications. 5.Preparation of photocatalysts for hydrogen generation via wáter-sppliting. The group is positioned in the global area matter .
