Trophic Ecology Group
The Trophic Ecology Group (GET) is a research team made up of scientists and technicians from different oceanographic centers of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO). The team was created with the vision of addressing the analysis of the structure and functioning of marine ecological networks through the multidisciplinary study of trophic interactions between species, populations, and communities from pelagic, demersal, and benthic habitats, considering the influence of natural variability and anthropogenic impact on the energy transfer of the ecosystem. The mission of GET is to respond in the most robust and reliable way to environmental issues through the use of trophic network indicators that contribute to the improvement and conservation of marine biodiversity. Additionally, GET establishes a set of values as guiding principles: Collaboration, Solidarity, Enthusiasm, and Commitment.
