Environmental impacts of wildland fires

We are a multidisciplinary research team that explores diverse fundamental questions around wildfires and their socioecological impacts. Our current research focuses on: - Advancing carbon emission estimations from wildfires applying artificial intelligence to 3D terrestrial point clouds. - Assessment, mitigation, and modelling of post-fire soil erosion and its impact on the carbon cycle. - How changes in landscape influence wildfire risk and the provision of ecosystem services.
