Quantum Fields, Gravity and Strings

The group studies Quantum Fields, Gravity and Strings, with four main lines of research:

1- Holography, Strings and applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence to the study of strongly coupled quantum field theories, in the context of heavy ion physics and condensed matter systems.

2- Gravitation
The group investigates quantum gravity as contained in String Theories and described at low-energies as Supergravity Theories, supersymmetric extensions of General Relativity.

3- String Phenomenology
The group aims to construct the Standard Model of particle physics and of the early universe based on the string hypothesis.

4- Lattice Field Theory
The group studies strongly coupled Quantum Field Theory, via first principle calculations in a lattice discretization of space-time, with applications to High Energy Physics and Cosmology.
