Dinámica Cuántica y Sistemas Abiertos (QuDOS)


This research line consists in the development of theory and numerical simulations of fundamental problems in quantum mechanics, making use of novel and alternative techniques that go from Bohmian mechanics to the theory of open quantum systems. This is a highly interdisciplinary research line, ranging problems from gas-phase and matter-radiation interaction, to optics, matter-wave interferometry, measurement theory, and system-environment interactions (e.g., surfaces, bulks, clusters, or liquids). The main theoretical ingredients involved in the dynamical approaches developed are time-dependent schemes, which also include stochastic processes. Numerically, our simulations involve Bohmian trajectories, wave-packet propagation methodologies, and molecular dynamics, combined whenever necessary with stochastic methodologies, e.g., quantum state diffusion.
