Catalysis for sustainable organic reactions

Research in the group will focus on developing effective homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for a better synthetic chemistry, from multi-ton products to fine chemistry and pharmaceuticals. Catalysis is a cross matter in many fields, including organic synthesis and material science, and serves for the understanding of chemistry and how it influences our way of life. However, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis are usually separated and low inter-crossed fields, so the objective of our group is a cross-fertilization between both. For that, the group will try to develop excellent basic science while, at the same time, work with the best companies in the field. For the sake of illustration, four different topics will be tackled in our group: 1) Catalysis with metal clusters. 2) Catalysis with few-layer pnictogens (P, Sb,…). 3) Solid catalysts for organic reactions. 4) Multistep catalyzed organic reactions
