Biomedical Applications

The Biomedical Applications Group (GAB) since its origin has been always considered as a multidisciplinary group bringing together human and material resources from different disciplines: physics, chemistry, medicine, telecommunications, microelectronics, integrated circuit design and systems et. that in a coordinated way has the aim to conduct its research to the development of micro / nano-electronics for medical applications. The GAB has participated in over 60 national and international projects being leader in most of them. Currently it is formed by twelve people and is considered for Quality Research Group of the Generalitat de Catalunya since 2001 (SGR01367) and has received twice the City of Barcelona Award in the category of Technology. Since 2006 is part of the Center for Biomedical Research in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN).
